Pop-Up Locations and News!
We would love to see you in person! Our Pop-Up locations are always great venues. We’ve also posted cool things happening in Detroit!
Detroit Institute of Arts ◾️ Detroit ◾️ This man has been such an inspiration in the world of fashion and beyond. The King of all things couture, The Stewart of all things fashionable, Andre Leon Talley is all of this and so much more. Be inspired by his story and watch the documentary at the DIA. Definitely something not to miss! More details here.
House of Vans ◾️ Detroit ◾️ Yes, you’re correct, it’s the sneaker company :) Vans will transform the currently abandoned Jefferson School into a skate boarders dream. Even if roller skating is your thing, go anyways. For more info, go here.
Karriem Riggins with The Erratic Specialist ◾️ Detroit ◾️ Northern Lights Lounge is such a hot spot for nightlife, filled with an audience who hunger for great, live music. It was no exception watching Karriem on drums with Ian Finklestein, Sasha Kashperko, Dwight Adams and Robert Hurst. He’s an established musician and producer within the jazz and hip hop industry. What a night! What a party.
Michelle Obama Book Tour, Becoming ◾️ Detroit ◾️ Seeing Michelle Obama speak in Detroit tonight was one of the highlights of our year. She stressed the importance of education and following your passions in life (and yes we’re in total agreement). However, it was her methodology of passing policy that had us in awe. She’s such a highly accomplished and a down-to-earth individual. Can’t wait to see what’s next...wink! #powefulwomen #soinspired
In our best Florida Evans voice, “Damn, damn, damn James!” We’re really sad to see the WarnerMedia subscription screening service, FilmStruck, shut down on November 29th. They had all the old classics: A Star is Born, Brief Encounter, Casablanca, Citizen Kane, The Seventh Seal.... and so many more. Lesson learned: always make time for the classics.
Noel Night ◾️ Detroit ◾️ The holidays are always a festive time of the year. There we were, in a huge heated tent on the corner of Warren/Woodward in Detroit. Tons of friends, families, shopping, music, and of course, food trucks. This annual event you don’t want to miss in the city of Detroit.
The 25th Anniversary Club 246 Party ◾️ Detroit ◾️ Ok, we’re going to be honest... we’ve never heard of Club 246 in Detroit that was started in the 80’s. Well, we got schooled at the 25th Anniversary Party held at Thomas McGee’s near the Eastern Market. We danced so hard to Bruce Bailey and DJ Raybone. We’ll try to be cool enough and post their next party... But hey, no promises :)
The Keisling Bar ◾️ Detroit ◾️ Before heading out to Thomas McGee’s, our team made a stop on the corner of Beaubien and Milwaukee in Detroit. A touch of nostalgia can be seen throughout the long history of this space. Uber casual, just the way we like it. Look for the raccoon... I think he winked at me 👀
Willis Show Bar ◾️ Detroit ◾️ Imagine listening to a sultry voice, live band and having your drink made by a bartender that actually cares about his craft. The music is live at the Willis Show Bar and the drinks are delicious. Reservations are not mandatory but definitely recommended. Tell them we said hello! #bestoldfashion
The Magic Stick ◾️ Detroit ◾️ Meet Wajeed. He’s from Detroit and his music will make you move your feet. It gets right into the grit and soul of a person. Go... right now... and check out his record From The Dirt. Man, so much good music comes from the D. @waajeed_
Rocki’s Reality Radio ◾️ Detroit ◾️ We are always excited when asked to be on a radio show. When it comes to Rocki, we’re thrilled! She’s from Detroit, unapologetic, funny and tough. A mix of suga and spice frequently flavors her radio show, along with a colorful array of special guests. Check her out on SoundCloud and the Motor City Radio App.
